Dr. Martuge has worked as an adjucnt at Fordham University, as well as at Iona College, Mercy College and the College of New Rochelle. She served as Instructional Staff at the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Martuge works full time as an administrator in the field of Special Education. She loves working with the students, their families, and teachers. Dr. Martuge wrote in one of her blogs “Children all have different abilities and capacities, as do adults. If we could help everyone see the strengths in each individual the word disability may become something more like differently abled, there is no wrongness in the children, they are often our greatest teachers”.
Through her early work in psychology and special education she discovered the need to help others through self-discovery and education. Dr. Martuge found that offering people inspiration and ideas that they can take and use to assist with their personal growth created greater, more permenant outcomes for those who were looking for lasting change in their lives. Her first book for general readers was just published in 2015. She has several more planned for release in 2016.
After working through some of her own personal struggles, Donna had found that her own life had more ease and joy when she reconnected with herself. This shows up in so many ways and it is different for everyone. For Donna, it was living in spirit, it is the place she knows we are all connected, a place where there is no judgement of yourself or others, a place where when someone requires some assistance, there is always a hand to help. It is in this space that Dr. Martuge does her personal growth, education, and spirtual writing. She often says “to empower others to be in the drivers seat of their lives, and offer them words, tools, sayings that assist them in seeing how great they truly are, is something I believe creates more joy all over the world. If I can contribute to adding joy, motivation and inspiration to others I know that is a difference that spreads in a beautiful way”.
